Lauren was my hair stylist who I met through my sister. I knew I could always count on a warm smile, a genuine hug, and a good time – in addition to a great cut – when I made a hair appointment! And of course our conversation would naturally include talking about the men in our lives.
Lauren would always fill me in on this high school sweetheart Edin, who she would visit as often as possible at college on the weekends. I always thought it was so sweet they first were schoolmates and friends in high school before dating long distance while Edin attended and finished college.
I was COMPLETELY honored to be part of Lauren & Edin’s very special day. You see, I also know Lauren through her mom, Beverly, who became a dear co-worker during my years in the corporate world. Beverly quickly became a helpful go-to with questions, advisor and dear friend. And I always loved hearing the updates about this budding love story between Lauren and Edin.
I love that Lauren and Edin chose a March wedding date. It’s the perfect time of the year to incorporate deep, dark colors with fun springish florals like lilies! And the Excelsior was the perfect blank canvas to make it all come to life!
The girls wore deep red dresses, and we chose a variety of dark purple and blush hues to compliment and bring depth to the color palette. We used a variety of garden roses, peonies, scabiosa, ranunculus, lilies, and anemones in the bouquets, with complimenting greens such as eucalyptus (to add a soft touch) and deeper hues such as bay leaves.
Banquet tables were chosen for the reception and Lauren envisioned having long garlands of greens with flowers tucked in them running down the tables. To keep costs down, we also suggested to reuse some of the garlands to line the aisle at the wedding ceremony! It’s always great if you are able to re-use florals from the ceremony to the reception!! Typically your wedding planner and their crew are willing to move these for you!
The happy couple danced the night away surrounded by their friends and family. I wish you all the best, my friend! It was such an honor being part of your special day. xx
