I was completely honored and floored when approached by Dream Weddings to design an installation for the cover of their spring print magazine. And OVER.THE.MOON!!!
Dream Weddings seeks to feature inspirational and vogue content for newly engaged couples, vendors, and general readers excited about wedding planning.
The vision for the design installation was to use baby’s breath and to work with a large wall in local Lancaster’s Rotunda at Lauxmont Farms. Minimal, ethereal, and refined, are all words in my vision for the shoot.
My design team created a “climbing” look with use of negative space to add a dramatic feature to the installation.
Dream Wedding’s talented creatives lined up additional vendors like Blush Bridal who provided the perfect white dress with beadwork that nicely complimented the little baby’s breath flowers.
The hair and makeup team styled the model’s hair to be stick straight which balanced nicely against the “frills” and “fluffs” of the baby’s breath.
In the past I would stay away from baby’s breath…convinced it made it’s debut in the 80s and 90s and I certainly wasn’t ready to “play” with it again. But this shoot convinced me otherwise, and you may just see it coming back in to our designs a little bit more this wedding season!! 🙂
In the meantime, I hope you are truly inspired by this beautiful, feminine shoot. Are you ready to see more baby’s breath installations?? Leave your comments and feedback below!
